The Context
Tutwiler Residence Hall is the third dormitory housing built on the University’s campus in over a century that honors Julia Tutwiler, a champion for education in Alabama. The Student Housing accommodates over 1,200 freshmen female students who live in two-person rooms with private bathrooms. It was a challenge for the architect firm to design bath spaces that are code compliant, and meet student mobility and accessibility needs.
The Solution
Comfort Designs partnered with an architect firm to build custom solutions that accommodate bath space in the campus housing, for easy maintenance and long-lasting use without sacrificing style.
